Jesus lights the WAY, come! Follow the light!

How? How does Jesus light the way? I believe it’s his love that lights up a path when darkness falls & despair threatens to overwhelm, as we search for the presence of God, we find Him walking beside us, sometimes carrying us, just as a shepherd carries a little lost lamb, he’s got him right near his bosom & the warmth & safety we feel when we realize that God has us, too, for “Underneath are the everlasting arms.”

Remember what Jesus said to the criminal hanging beside him? Well, he didn’t ask him what religion he was or recommend a course of studying the Torah & perhaps, maybe after doing that, possibly this criminal would have a chance to enter paradise, no, on the contrary, He gave him the tender assurance that “- you will be with me in paradise.” The criminal had passed on from being a criminal in Jesus eyes, not in mans! but in Jesus eyes. Jesus heard the repentance in his heart &  the belief in him, in his voice & that was ENOUGH!

Today, if you are feeling alone, forgotten or judged, remember; God loves you & His arms are open, chat with Him, pour out your heart, He’s listening! Remember too, that God knows you are dust, you make mistakes, you do wrong but you’re sorry & Jesus light is there, shining! to show you that there is a path, you can walk along side him, his light will never go out.

If we could speak to Jesus right now about that experience with the criminal that hung beside him, maybe he would answer by asking: “What criminal?”

Love is the light, see people thru its lens x

What Religion does & What Jesus Did!

She was caught in an act of adultery. Dragged out of bed & shamed in public. Juicy gossip for the eager self-righteous! Can’t you just see their spiteful faces filled with glee?!!! Let’s stone her! but first, let’s bring her to Jesus so she can really feel like a low life, so she can get the ultimate condemnation & that’s sure to finish her off!

Ugly, isn’t it? What did Jesus do? I imagine his heart went out to the way this woman was being treated & the Master knew every sin that those desperate to stone her had done & were doing!

Jesus knelt down and simply wrote in the sand, what? I don’t know. Maybe he wrote, thief; wife beater, liar, etc; whatever it was, they skulked away pretty quickly! We know for sure that not one of them was FIT enough to throw the first stone, they were naughty boys & girls, too!

Notice that Jesus never told her that she should recite a prayer over & over or feel bad forever or instead of forgiveness she should be put on probation for a couple of years!

Jesus said “Neither do I condemn you.” Can’t you just see those tears falling from her face? The anguish of heart giving way to relief! You see, she had no doubt condemned herself way before any of those ugly hearted ‘do- gooders’ got hold of her.

Jesus never told her to go become a Jew or follow a religion of the day, instead, he gave her some wise advice for her future happiness, “Go! & sin no more. How could she not follow him after that loving, tender experience?

Jesus came to save & not condemn. It doesn’t mean you can live as you please because Jesus gave her sound advice, don’t sleep with that married man, you’re hurting other people & you’re hurting yourself first. I’ve freed you to live a life of loving God your neighbour & you can’t be loving your neighbour if you are sleeping with someone else’s husband. Think of his kids & go, live a better life, one that will benefit you.

It’s a beautiful account & you can read it for yourself in John 7:53–8:11, what encouraging points did you get out of it?

What must I do to be saved? Follow Jesus; believe in him & accept him as your Lord & Saviour, ask forgiveness for your sins & be at ease, he will give you the same loving consideration that he gave this woman.

God or as Jesus said: “Our Father”

I was totally confused about God. He seemed so remote & unapproachable. I would never be good enough so why bother! I don’t think like that anymore. I’m loved! Big time by God. Gaining this intimacy with Him has not so much been a journey but a realization, I know now that He has been with me all through my life, even at utterly Godless moments, He has been there all along & I feel religion hasn’t had anything to do with US, we’ve always been US, it’s just that I couldn’t see or feel His warmth because I believe the church system has always been telling me their version of God &, I wondered… if in these great cathedrals or churches in Europe, I merely go in and sit down and listen to a man tell me about someone I should know, know personally for myself; someone who deals with me as an individual, knowing me warts & all, then what am I doing listening to this man speak words that are so distant from the gentle, loving sound of Father’s love!

It became unbearable! In these days of such unrest, worldly unrest, the church is devoid of comfort &, a living God, like Father is, could never be in such dead places!

And so, I am happy. I believe I am beginning to know Father, an intimacy is growing, a bond has always been there but I couldn’t feel it when listening and nodding to other people, people who can’t have my relationship with God because it’s our intimacy and everyone must cultivate their own with Him. He knows us, it’s we who need to know Him & chatting to Him is a good way to begin.photo-1496245117357-df5fbb8d61b7

;

NOW is Tomorrow’s Memory Make it Memorable!

Each new day gives us a golden opportunity, a gift, something so precious & priceless…TIME. We get to remember what we do with that time & that’s the bonus! so make each day remarkable in some simple way, it could be in the way you commit to love & devote yourself to your family, your friends or to your dreams. When you open your eyes at the birth of each new day, the adventure, the chance to ‘discover’ is before you, another 24 hours of life beckons you to go forth & ‘ suck the marrow out of it!’

Do we discover this later in life? Unless some tragedy stabs you in the heart, I think we do, yes, sadly, we do. Why not when we are full of youth & dreams? because when we  are young, our feelings are young, ‘young feelings’  like a new born foal,  so busy learning new things, it’s a time of raw experience, crawling, walking, stumbling & getting up!  maturity is gained and that takes time.

The same question whispers at the dawn of each new day; what memory will you gift yourself  & those you love with on this fresh new day?

The BEST Beauty Ingredient…Focus on What YOU!!! ENJOY DOING!

It doesn’t matter what age you are, true beauty is a soul & heart thing! The soul is ageless. It’s where you will find your fountain of youth. & when you do things YOU enjoy & ditch things you’re only doing to make others happy, you will start to feel that oh, so feel-good state of well-being.

The first thing you will notice is that you will start to smile again! An honest to goodness smile that comes up all the way from your soul to your face & hey! doesn’t joy look beautiful on a woman?! Yup! It sure does x

One thing I’m thinking of doing that is totally new to me, is to join the local kayaking club. My neighbour, in her late sixties, asked me a few weeks ago if I’d like to come along to the club! As I’m doing an arm work-out at the moment, I thought, now there’s just the thing to keep my arms nice & taut! I’ll give it a try & if I enjoy doing it, bonus! then I’ll keep on kayaking!I like the fact, too, that kayaking will be a new challenge for me & thus, I’ll be stepping out of my comfort zone &, that’s always a good thing!

photo-1465310477141-6fb931

What goals, new interests are you going to take up? I’ve come up with some ideas I like & some I won’t pursue but maybe you will!

  1. Join a book club. Or, better yet, create your own book club meet-up. You’ll make new gal pals of all ages &, sharing an in-depth discussion about a book you’ve all read will increase your appreciation about the way other people think as you probe deep into the story plot, much like mining for gems!
  2. Do you like to paint or draw? or write poetry? Join a class or create one. Put an ad in the local paper inviting other people for tea & cake or a glass of red, once a month, while you all paint, write or draw, together. It doesn’t have to be a solitary thing but it can be, it’s up to YOU x
  3. Grab the sax, pull out the old guitar, take up the flute or maybe the harp? So many of you are musical, if its been a long time, go play!
  4. Hiking is great, so good for your health & emotional well-being, too! Prepare a little backpack picnic & don’t forget the wine!
  5.  Dance! Just put the music on that makes your feet tap & grab your man or a group of friends & rock & roll!
  6. Like to sing? Be brave & go street perform!
  7. Start a prayer group. Pray for each other & think of ways you can help others.
  8. Gather. Gather. GATHER together, you & your tribe. Prepare a meal together & share your hearts.

Or, you can fall in love & have regular date nights x

Remember…focus on something YOU enjoy doing! Invite like-minded ones along, too, if you like!

When you wear that heady scent of satisfaction & find fulfilment in what you like & enjoy doing, you’ll have stirred the waters in that fountain of youth which is found in your soul.

Go do interesting things & then ‘nourish your flourish!’

Spring is in the air! (even if it’s raining!)

I’m doin’ the countdown to Spring big time this year! Hubby & I spent 3 months in Tasmania, Australia, last year. Tasmania is an astonishingly picturesque island, truly beautiful  &, even though it was Spring when we were there, it actually felt like Winter. Cold, blustery days & lots of moody grey cloud. Of course, NOW, in France, we are only days away to Spring & it seems a weepy & sulky French sky is bidding Winter good-bye!

photo-1467923044809-87f242

Cherry trees are plentiful here, so much so that we pick copious amounts of them and Rob makes cherry liquor which we give as away as gifts at the end of the year. We have a cherry tree, too, it’s about to bud! The things in life that give us such remarkable joy are usually the most beautiful & delightful.  The French would say, “Extraordinaire!”

Our garden, too, is about to burst into a beautiful bouquet of colour. We prepared it well.  You see, Rob & I had a plan! When we were in Tasmania, we spent a lot of time at the botanical gardens, we took our books on days when the sun actually came out & STAYED! & we read, ate lunch there & then did our tour of the gardens & it was while we were admiring a particular section of garden (can’t quite remember exactly which one as we find all the gardens exceptional!) that we decided to turn our little patch of France into a beautiful one & so we rolled up our sleeves when we came back & got stuck into it! daffs, ranunculus, poppies, cosmos, heaps of lavender & hydrangea & many other colourful flowers are about to peel their Winter garb off & welcome Spring IN, as only a garden can!

photo-1492114011589-509c6e

14 days to go! Whoohoo! In the meantime, we console ourselves by picking bunches of daffs in the countryside & so far, our kitchen table hasn’t missed a bunch!

photo-1485431142439-206ba3

Rob’s making lunch. We both have colds. & even if it is a rainy day & the sun is teasing us by ducking in & out of a bad-tempered cloud, we have each other.

Tomorrow I’m going to chat about what to wear in Spring. I guess, it’s an individual thing, so, it’s really about what I’m going to wear in Spring & if you need some tips…help yourself!

Cheers! Oh, that’s not very French!

A bientôt!
